Akeredolu Denies Involvement In Suspension Of Judicial Officers

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has denied his involvement in the recent suspension of some magistrates in the state.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, made this denial while declaring open the 2017 Chief Judge’s Seminar, held at the International Events Centre, DOME in Akure on Wednesday.

The state judiciary kicked out about 190 Magistrates and Senior Registrars over what it termed irregular appointments.

In his address, Akeredolu said, “The development was introduced by the State Judiciary Commission (NJC), as part of the ongoing efforts of cleaning the judiciary system.

“The ongoing reform in the judiciary will give way for speedy judiciary dispensation in the country.”

He, however, charged stakeholders in the judiciary to champion fairness, equity and justice while discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

In her address earlier, the Acting Chief Judge of Ondo state, Justice Olanrewaju Akeredolu said the forum availed members of legal profession to learn aspects the law, life and new things in the law to impact meaningfully on the society.
