Aiyegbeni Names Six Best African Players, Snubs Salah

Former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has stirred controversy by claiming that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah does not meet the criteria of being a world-class player.

Aiyegbeni, who holds the fifth position among African footballers with the most Premier League goals, falls behind Salah’s impressive record of 154 goals in 252 appearances.

In a surprising turn, Aiyegbeni asserted that the likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, and Sadio Mane surpass Salah in terms of skill and impact on the field.

“Salah is not world-class in my opinion. He is not good with the ball, and the majority of his goals are lucky goals.

“The greatest African players in the Premier League are Okocha, Drogba, Kanu, Yaya Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor and Sadio Mane,” Yakubu said on Talksport.
