Why Aisha Buhari Canceled Her 46th Birthday Celebration

Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, canceled her 46th birthday celebration on Friday as a show of sympathy with the poor and less privileged.

This was made known by the Director of Information in the Office of the Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna revealed.

Suleiman said, “She did not celebrate her birthday. She only marked it with the distribution of gifts to patients in some hospitals in Abuja.

“Even at her residence, there was no party or any celebration. Why should she celebrate when so many people are suffering?

“There are many internally displaced persons in various IDP camps.” he said.

Aisha Buhari Seeks Aid For The Poor

Earlier yesterday, Haruna had quoted the Wife of the President as appealing to the privileged Nigerians, “to do more in the lives of the less privileged with a view to increasing the feeling of humanity among citizens.”

Haruna said this appeal was made during the distribution of baby kits and food stuff at the Asokoro, Garki, Wuse and Maitama District Hospital in recognition of her birthday.

The Director added that Aisha noted through a Senior Special Assistant to the President, Dr Hajo Sani imbibing the spirit of sharing would spread love and unity in Nigeria.
