Bayelsa State House Of Reps Condemned Over Floating Toilet

A member of the Bayelsa House of Assembly, Kate Owoko has attracted public condemnation after inviting the press to cover the commissioning of a floating toilet.

Hon. Kate Owoko who is currently representing the Southern Ijaw constituency in the Amassoma Local Governmnet Area added that the ‘floating’ toilet is a dividend of democracy.

According to reports, the Honourable claimed she built the ‘ultra-modern and world class’ toilet due to the demands of the women of Okori Ama and Oweidei Ama of the local government area.

She also invited members of the press to cover the commissioning from the “world class edifice”.

Although, the honourable seems proud of this feat, members of the public have condemned her effort, stressing that her actions are derogatory.

Reactions

A twitter user reacting has hailed the state sharing a picture of the toilet.

Another twitter user called the project laughable.

A Facebook user likened the infrastructure to the ones seen in the UAE.

Noting a major health menace, Ekundayo pointed out that the infrastructure would pollute the water.
