Aggrieved PDP Govs Support Lagos Candidates, Snub Atiku, Jandor

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his colleagues in the Peoples Democratic Party G5, during a visit to Lagos on Sunday, snubbed the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and its governorship candidate in Lagos, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor.

The governors who met with former deputy national chairman of the party, Olabode George, are calling for the resignation of the current national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Addressing supporters at George’s house in Ikoyi, Wike said the governors will support candidates of the party in the state up to Senate level.

He, however, failed to mention support for the presidential candidate and the governorship candidate in the state.

He said, “We came to tell you through the leadership in your state that we are all with you. You can see the five governors here. Governor of Enugu is here, Governor of Abia is here, Governor of Benue is here, and my younger brother, Oyo(Makinde) is here. Former governor of Cross River is here, Ondo is here, Plateau is here, and Ekiti is here. We all are in PDP, no be so?

“We want to assure you today, all of you, during the election, House of Assembly, House of Reps, Senate, we’ll all give you support.

“This period is a period of action. No be so? We have told Baba that we will give every support to all of you and the leaders. All you should do is to make sure you support our candidates.

“Are the House of Assembly candidates here? Are the House of Reps candidates here? Are the senators here? We will give you support. You are not alone. We will never leave you alone.

“When you have a problem, we have a problem. When it was our turn you were with us. And now it is your turn, we will be with you. I thank all of you. Thank you and God bless you.”
