AC Milan Stun Bianconeri In Serie A

Youngster, Manuel Locatelli gave AC Milan a hard-earned 1-0 win over Serie A leaders Juventus at the San Siro. Vincenzo Montella’s youthful side ended a nine-match winless run against the Bianconeri, including last season’s Coppa Italia final.

A stunning strike from 18-year-old midfielder Locatelli on 65 minutes proved enough to secure a first win over Juve since November 2012.

AC Milan Triumph In Grudge Match

The outcome could have been different after a first-half free kick from Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic was controversially disallowed for offside, having initially been given by the officials.

On the last play of the game, 17-year-old Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Sami Khedira’s long range effort. Khedira shot looked destined for the top corner but Donnarumma produced a brilliant fingertip to ensure victory.

Juve lost Paulo Dybala after 33 minutes when he pulled up with pains at the back of his thigh. AC Milan M’Baye Niang also left the pitch after the goal due to an ankle injury.

With the win, Milan move up into second place, two points behind Juve and three ahead of Roma, who host Palermo today.

In other Saturday match ups in the Serie A, Sampdoria beat local rivals Genoa 2-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. It was Sampdoria’s claimed first win in seven Serie A games with a 2-1 victory over local rivals Genoa .

Luis Muriel gave the hosts an early lead before Luca Rigoni equalised after 24 minutes. Sampdoria were then awarded a penalty on the stroke of half time. Mattia Perin saved Fabio Quagliarella’s spot-kick. Genoa defender Armando Izzo however scored an own-goal to hand Marco Giampaolo’s side an all-important derby win
