Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Passenger, Chinelo Megafu, ‘Dies’ After Being Shot

A lady identified on Twitter as Chinelo Megafu has reportedly died after she was shot while onboard the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train that was attacked by bandits.

Chinelo had tweeted via her handle @nelo_x, saying, “I’m in the train. I have been shot please pray for me.”

Her post was, however, trifled with as many thought she may have tweeted just to chase clout as the bandits’ attack on the train was trending on social media at the time.

However, news of her death was announced by @anchellottii who pointed out that the last tweet by the deceased was in no way a clout.

“Incase you are wondering why she is not here to reply all of you that accused her of doing it for the clout, Dr Chinelo is Dead… Nigeria has failed one of us again,” he wrote.

According to a friend, the deceased was on the train back home to prepare to leave the country after resigning from her job.

Tweeps have since flooded Twitter with posts mourning the young lady who had bagged an award for her effort in dentistry in 2015.

One doctor, @the beardedsina, tweeted, “Dr Chinelo was an extraordinary Doctor. She was the definition of beauty and brains . Dedicated her life to Nigeria.”

@RoadAgbo wrote, “Nigeria can happen to you anywhere, any time and any day. Dr Chinelo will never be forgotten and the responses she got from Abolore, Woye, Iyabo and their cohorts will also not be forgotten.”

On his part, DJ Neptune slammed the government, saying, “Dr Chinelo and the others didn’t deserve to go like that. That is an act of terrorism but this senseless government will call them bandits. Continue these bandits will soon reach you and yours, God no dey sleep.”

Girl_IsBlessed wrote, “Soon, Those who murdered Dr Chinelo will soon “repent”, Govt will give them money, food and sew white agbada for them. They will even be sent abroad to study.”

@FS_Yusuf_ wrote, “Are u not entertained? Are you not entertained? Yall vipers that went under the tweet insulting, are u not entertained? Don’t insult me again, what u wanted is done.”
