The House of Representatives has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to designate bandits as terrorists.
The motion was moved at plenary on Thursday by the Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila then asked for objections to the motion which was met with a chorus of “No” from the lawmakers.
This comes a day after the upper chamber of the National Assembly, the Senate, made the same demand of the Federal Government.
The bandits have dominated the North-West and parts of the North-Central geopolitical zones inflicting terror through their murder, rape, and kidnapping for ransom activities.
