2018 Budget To Be Ready April – Lawmaker

President Muhammadau Buhari presenting the budget in 2017.

The 2018 Budget would be passed by both houses of the National Assembly by April.

This was disclosed by the chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Education, Hon. Zakari Mohammed,

He made this disclosure during the weekend while speaking to newsmen at an empowerment programme organised by one of his colleagues, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi.

Mohammed blamed the delay on the lack of cooperation by the ministries and ministers.

He said, “When a budget is laid, it is our duty to ask for detail information because we won’t manufacture figures. That is the problem. I am sure that by the end of April we will have a budget.”

He urged the executive arm of government to stem the fall in budget performance while also asking the residents of throwing their support behind Ogunwuyi’s bid for a second term.

“When you go to the National Assembly as a first timer, it takes you more than three years to learn the process and by the end of four years you will have nothing to show,” he said.
