20 Lunatics Rehabilitated In Zamfara State – Zakat Board

Twenty lunatics from Zamfara State have been treated and rehabilitated by the State’s Zakat and Endowment Board in 2016.
The board’s Executive Secretary Liman Surajo, who disclosed this to newsmen Monday in Gusau, said the beneficiaries were from Gusau Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the 20 mentally-sick persons were sponsored to various hospitals across the country for treatment.
Surajo expressed delight that all the beneficiaries have been reintegrated into their respective communities.
According to him, 180 persons benefited from the N1.6 million the board collected in Gusau Local Government Area.
He added that the money collected was shared to the orphans, the poor and the needy of the same community.
The executive secretary, then thanked all those who contributed to the fund, reminding Muslims that Zakat was mandatory on those who had the means.
