20 Killed As Herdsmen Attack Southern Kaduna Community

No fewer than 20 persons have been killed after Herdsmen attacked Godogodo, a semi-urban settlement in Jema’a LGA over the weekend.
Local community leaders disclosed that Godogodo was under invasion by the armed men for two days. A substantial part of the town razed, while women and children were killed in the inferno. Eyewitness accounts said some persons, who tried to escape, where shot or cut down with machetes. Casualties have been put at 20, aside from those injured.
Kaduna State Police spokesman, Aliyu Usman, confirmed the violence. He added that two policemen were killed in an earlier raid around the community.
However, Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association, Kaduna State chapter, Dr. Haruna Usman, denied knowledge of the system.
Herdsmen Attack: IMC Imposes 24-hour Curfew
The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Jema’a LGA, Dr. Humble has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the council. This is in following the attack on the community. The incident was said to have heightened tension between the majority Christian population of Kafanchan and its minority settler population of Hausa/Fulani Muslims
Kafanchan is the headquarters of Jema’a LGA, It is about 12km north of Godogodo. It is 250km, south of Kaduna metropolis. It is also the commercial and socio-political hub of Southern Kaduna.
