10th NASS: Wike Begs Aspirants To Respect Tinubu’s Decision

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has called on dissatisfied candidates competing for the leadership position in the National Assembly to honor the decision made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Speaking to reporters in Abuja over the weekend, Wike emphasized that respecting this decision would enable the president-elect to effectively carry out his duties by establishing a strong relationship with the legislative branch of government.

The governor also referred to a previous incident in 2015 where a similar situation occurred, and its aftermath negatively impacted the performance of the APC-led administration.

He said: “During his campaign, he, Tinubu, promised to unite every Nigerian and bring competence.

“It’s not going to be because you are members of APC or not, we want Nigerians with the capacity to help people deliver what will make Nigeria to be great.

“No President can do very well if he does not have that leadership that is not ready to cooperate with him. If you remember what happened in 2015, that affected the performance of the present administration.

“In the interest of Nigerians, let them respect the leadership of their party and the President-elect to move forward.”
